Upgrade Classes

   
       

Upgrade classes are offered at various times during the year. These classes are designed to satisfy licensing continuing education requirements as well as code/procedure updates and safety classes. Classes are free to Union members (you must present a current dues card), and $120.00 for the general public. We do require a $75.00 deposit at the time of scheduling, for all individuals, and have a 48 hour cancellation policy. 2011 Code Books are available for $94.27 at the Apprenticeship School.

Unless otherwise indicated, all classes are held at the Tom Cashen Training Facility at 5800 B Street, Anchorage. You must call to register for a class (337-9508).
Classes Offered 2011 Schedule
  • National Electrical Code (NEC)
    8 am - 5 pm, on the 2nd Saturday of each month.
    These classes fulfill the State of Alaska requirements for continuing education classes for fitness card renewal.
  • North Slope Training Certification (NSTC)
    8 am - 5 pm
    The NSTC class is required for anyone taking dispatches to work anywhere along the pipeline corridor or on the North Slope.
  • First Aid/CPR
    8 am - 5 pm, every other month on the 3rd Saturday.
    CPR certification is good for 1 year, and First Aid for 3 years.
